What Poker Manager is

Poker Manager is a record-keeping tool. It does not handle, process, hold or facilitate any payment or gambling transaction, it does not offer any game of chance for money, and it takes no stake or commission. Money is settled directly between players, away from this app, exactly as it would be without it.

Think of it as a shared notebook. You and your friends decide what to play and what it is worth; the app keeps count so that nobody has to do arithmetic at one in the morning, and so that the answer at the end is one everybody can see. It has no view on what you play, and it is not a party to any agreement between you.

Your responsibility for what you play

Whether a game of poker for money is lawful where you are is your responsibility, not the operator’s. Home games are legal in some places, restricted in others, and prohibited in a few. You must satisfy yourself that what you are doing is permitted before you use this application to record it, and you must be 18 or over.

Debts are between players

The settlement Poker Manager works out is a suggestion of who could pay whom to square the table with the fewest transfers. It is arithmetic, not an obligation the operator creates, guarantees or enforces. Money moves between you and the other players directly, by whatever means you choose, entirely outside this application. If somebody does not pay, that is a matter between the two of you.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Use a display name your friends will recognise and that is not offensive or somebody else’s. If you add a guest player by name, you should have their agreement to record it.

Accuracy

The app records what people type into it. It checks its own arithmetic carefully: money is counted in whole cents, and every settlement is checked to see whether the amounts balance. When they do not, it says so — the discrepancy is shown to you rather than quietly rounded away — and it still produces the settlement, because a table that is a few euros out needs the figure surfaced, not the whole evening blocked. What it cannot check is whether the chip count somebody entered is the one that was actually on the table. Look at the numbers before you settle up.

Availability

Poker Manager is provided as it is, without any promise that it will be available when you want it or free of faults. It may change, and it may stop. If it is going to stop for good, reasonable notice will be given so that you can take a copy of your records.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for losses arising from your use of Poker Manager — including money lost at cards, a debt someone does not pay, or a figure entered incorrectly. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Ending it

You can stop using the application whenever you like. Deleting your account is done by asking — there is no self-service button yet, so write to the contact address and it will be done for you. The privacy page explains what happens to your data, including the one thing that cannot simply be erased. The operator may suspend an account that is being used to abuse other people or the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. Disputes may be brought before a competent Dutch court. If mandatory consumer law gives you protection or a right to bring proceedings somewhere else, these terms do not take that protection or right away.

Changes to these terms

Material changes will be announced in the application before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means the revised terms apply from then on. A change never removes rights that mandatory law gives you.
